My Approach to Tutoring
Through tutoring, I aim to cultivate both excitement on the subject matter, and deeper understanding for students. Very rarely will a subject be taught by simply "memorizing a formula". As Benjamin Franklin said, "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." I hope to involve my students in developing a better base of knowledge for them to apply to any problem that they may come across. I believe that understanding the origins of any ideas, the concepts behind any topic, and the physical meanings of said concepts are the best way to develop long-term knowledge and comprehension of subjects, rather than short-term memorization of any particular subject for an exam.
Having gone through 4 years of a rigorous engineering education at the University of Pennsylvania, I have a great deal of experience in learning some of the most difficult subject areas, and how to master them. I hope to work alongside students to truly motivate them to excel at their work, while ensuring effective and lasting learning. Algebra, Calculus and Physics can be some of the toughest subjects in a vacuum, but getting a grasp of how they work in conjunction with each other garners a mindset that can work through any problem presented.
