My Approach to Tutoring
After having studied pedagogy for my MA and having gathered several years of teaching experience, I can now say that I want to be the teacher I never had. I want to make the learning process as fun and easy as possible, offer support, motivation and encouragement for my students.
While I was doing my MA in Theatre Education, I discovered that I could incorporate acting games into each discipline taught in school. Applying principles from theatrical disciplines into teaching makes learning more fun and playful. And according to studies, this is how our brains get the most out of a lesson. That also means that I am applying two other main theatrical tools: discipline and focus. As my teaching mentor taught me at our first encounter,"I (the teacher) am giving you 100%, therefore I ask the same of you". I am on time, 100% present, and disciplined in my lesson planning. I am asking the same from my students.
