My Approach to Tutoring
I am a tutor committed to both academic and interpersonal learning. During tutoring session, I focus my awareness not only on the assignment, but also on my student's insecurities. I believe that it is my job to address each child's individual anxieties and disabilities with care. I foster a relationship with my students in which they feel both supported and encouraged to take risks. In order for a child to be actively engaged in their education, they must be confident in where they are right now. With patience and care, I encourage curiosity and independent thinking in my students. During sessions, I demand deep and critical thinking. Through this process, students learn to solve problems creatively. I believe that creative problem solving is one of the most important skills a person can learn. Creativity is essential to contemporary society. I want to create conditions that help students understand the power of their thoughts, think inventively, and use reason to critically assess ideas.
